To study the evolution of asthma and allergies in patients followed at birth by the University Hospital Brugmann about 15 years ago.
In the early 2000s, a longitudinal study, on the risk of atopic sensitisation in children, was conducted. It aimed to study bacteria and endotoxins in airborne dust in Brussels homes to assess their impact on the development of allergic diseases in newborn babies. This study is still ongoing and aims to determine the evolution of the state of health of the patients who took part in the study.
